Many dogs like to make a racket, barking at whatever that moves, but what if your dog hates noise? Some pets suffer from sound-phobias and are filled with anxiety by the slightest hint of a single noise. If this sounds worryingly familiar, rehabilitation is ready and your pet insurance course may cover the cost.
Dogs are especially sensitive to sound, so it is unsurprising that some canines may suffer from sound-phobias. Dogs are commonly able to detect sounds far lower and higher than the human range; humans can hear sounds up to about 20,000 Hz, whilst dogs have a range of 70,000 to 100,000 Hz. Dogs not only hear a wider range of sounds, they can also tell where it's coming from; using eighteen or more muscles, dogs can move, tilt and rotate their ears, which enables them to pinpoint the exact location of a sound.
Barking Dogs Audio
Common canine sound phobias include a fear of fireworks, thunder, trains and even rain. Pet owners are ordinarily aware that on bonfire night you need to take extra care of your pet; keep them close by, or best yet, safe indoors in a quiet room. Whilst adults and children alike huddle under smoke-filled skies trying to write their names in the trail of a sparkler, pet dogs are probably huddled under tables with their tails between their legs.

A fear of fireworks is easy to understand and predict, but what if your dog has a phobia towards a simply occurring sound? If your dog fears an unpredictable and uncontrollable sound, such as thunder, your day-to-day living may be severely affected. As phobias escalate, your dog may start to fear things he company with thunder. In time, even light rain could cause excessive levels of anxiety. Dogs that suffer acutely may also sass badly to increased wind, air pressure or humidity.
Symptoms of a phobia range in severity from panting and trembling, to hiding, whining, digging and home soiling. In exceptional cases, dogs have been known to jump through glass windows due to the intensity of their fear.
If the question is especially severe, and nothing seems to enhance it, you should speak to your vet, as there are treatments available. Most treatments for sound phobia involve a range of techniques along with desensitisation and counter conditioning techniques. This is where your dog is played very low levels of the fear-inducing sound; moderately the level of sound is increased, and the dog is rewarded for not responding to the noise.
Your dog insurance could pay up to 250 pounds per period of insurance towards your dog's rehabilitation for sound phobia, if it is recommended by your vet. Before you know it, your dog should be back to exploring - rather than fearing - the world at large. However, it's worth noting that the symptoms and phobia will only be covered if they began after the insurance was taken out and any preexisting phobias will not be covered.
This is my shih tzu / springer spaniel mix, Bijou. I was trying to get her to do something else while I recorded her with photobooth, but when she saw herself on the computer she started growling at herself instead. Really crappy sound quality.

- Story Telling - draw pictures or find some pictures in a coloring book and have your child tell you about what is going on in the picture. Ask a lot of questions to encourage your child to build a story nearby the photograph and use his or her imagination. This is also a great way to reiterate practical and public skills.
- I Spy - This classic game is one that you no doubt played as a child. either using something in a photograph or an item literally within the room, say "I spy with my exiguous eye, something that is..." and name the color of the object. The game works well both ways, allowing the child to both be the guesser and the someone who spies the object. For every incorrect reply give a clue about the object. The game helps to teach children colors and how to put words together in the right order.
- Touch and Guess - Place an object in a cloth bag or in a box with a hole big enough that your child can reach inside and feel the object, but not see it. Let your child feel the item with his or her hand and guess what it is. Once he or she guesses switch the item. With every incorrect guess, give a clue. Use items with many dissimilar textures such as a tennis ball, a marble, a golf ball, sandpaper, a tissue, and other rough, smooth, fuzzy (etc) objects. Encourage your child to narrate what he or she is feeling. What does it feel like? What could you do with this kind of an item? What could it be?
- If It Were Me - this game can be effective for construction conversational skills. In it, you begin the game "if it were me who found a puppy, I would..." or "if it were me who got lost in the mall, I would..." and let your child terminate the sentence. It also provides you with a very good chance to understand what your child is thinking, and suggest safe responses for serious events like getting lost, crossing the street, and other protection issues.
When it comes to autistic learning activities, there are lots of dissimilar ways for you and your preschooler to have fun and be educational at the same time. Plus these suggestions are pretty adaptable and can be altered to make them convenient for children at differing developmental levels.
Five Fun Autistic learning Activities for Your PreschoolerHarmony Festival 2011 - Emancipator Tube. Duration : 5.07 Mins.
This is just a bunch of clips I recorded when Emancipator came on. The audio is pretty messed up, but it was such a sick show! Ridiculous!
Recently, I moved into a new apartment. While it is much bigger and is very beautiful, there is also a lot of noise once you exit onto the main roadways. As it turns out, all of the road noise is advent from the fact that there are construction crews rebuilding and expanding the main road just covering of the apartment complex. But this isn't the only area that is receiving attention.
Over the past any years, North Carolina has come to be the center of attentiveness because more and more citizen are animated here than ever before. Because of this sudden influx of people, the old roads that once served their purpose are being broken down and re-built to accommodate the large swell of citizen who are now living in varied pockets of space. While construction crews are noisy, this is a more standard form of noise because it is tangible. You can go out at any point during a quarterly business day and find construction crews hard at work.
Barking Dogs Audio
When things start to get a little hairy is when you have road noise that you can't indubitably place. This kind of noise includes things such as large trucks or Suvs driving by at a high rate of speed, citizen whose engines or mufflers are in desperate need of repair, bicycle engines, garbage trucks and citizen honking their horns. For most people, these noises seem very unnecessary, and in most cases rude. Road noise, especially the kind that was listed above, can cause stress in citizen who are plainly seeing for a little peace and quiet. After all, how would you feel if you just came home from a long day at work only to have to listen to the sounds of citizen speeding by your front door, tires screeching, citizen yelling and dogsbarking, etc.
Road Noise
In places like New York, there are areas in which you are indubitably prohibited from using your car horn because doing so would ruin the aesthetic feeling in the area. Horns in vehicles are indubitably meant to function more as a warning to other drivers- as a sort of means for preventing accidents from happening. However, there are some citizen who abuse the use of their horns to plainly scare other citizen or because the driver is suffering from a bout of road rage blues.
Think about how much noise citizen make on a daily basis when it comes to their vehicles. Often, citizen will look at their cars and not think twice about the kind of noise it makes once they start it up. There are some vehicles that have built in sensors in the back bumper, and the car will indubitably emit a sound when you are backing your car up to supposedly alert anyone who is standing within range of your car to back away. But is this indubitably necessary?
From ambulances to firetrucks to police sirens to tornado sirens, marching bands, large tractor trailers and road crews, we live in a noisy society. Possibly this is the surmise then that so many of us look to go away on vacation in places where we are guaranteed some peace and quiet away from the noise.

The spleen is an organ located below the stomach. It contains lots of blood vessels with circulating red blood cells, manufacture it a storehouse for blood. It also supplies blood, and cleans up old red blood cells.
Dogs may manufacture masses in the spleen. These can be benign or malignant. Hemangiosarcoma is the most tasteless type of malignant spleen tumor in dogs. This is an aggressive cancer that tends to spread to other internal organs. Once metastasis has occurred, the diagnosis is poor.
Barking Dogs Audio
Although this type of cancer can occur in any dog, it is tasteless in middle aged to elderly dogs, especially large breeds like German Shepherd and Golden Retriever.
Spleen Cancer in Dogs - What You Should Know
Canine spleen cancer symptoms
When the tumor ruptures, the spleen bleeds and internal hemorrhage occurs. Immoderate blood loss may ensue in death. Symptoms of spleen cancer in dogs are:
shock
pale gums
cold body
weakness
abdominal distention
anemia
By the time the tumor is detected, it ordinarily has come to be large and has metastasised to liver, lungs, brain and other organs.
Diagnosis of spleen tumor
Several tests can determine the existence of masses. The introductory step involves a corporal examination. A firm mass can be felt in the spleen area on palpation. Thereafter, radiographs of the abdomen are performed to determine if the mass is on the spleen and radiographs of the chest is for checking the spread of cancer. Abdominal ultrasound may detect cancer spread to liver and other organs. Blood tests are also carried out.
It may not be inescapable before surgical operation either the tumor is benign or malignant. If radiographs and ultrasound show spread of tumor to other organs, the tumor is malignant.
If no tumor spread is visible, the mass may or may not be benign. Where the tumor spread is too small to be seen, it may not be inescapable if it is benign or malignant until the abdomen is opened.
Treatment for dog spleen tumor
For both benign and malignant tumors, the recommended rehabilitation is splenectomy. If the cancer spread is minimal, chemotherapy following surgical operation may prolong the dog's life span.
If the tumor is benign and the splenectomy is not carried out, there will be repeated hemorrhages that is potentially life threatening to the dog. Splenectomy gets rid of the associated problems and symptoms caused by benign tumor.
