Many dogs like to make a racket, barking at whatever that moves, but what if your dog hates noise? Some pets suffer from sound-phobias and are filled with anxiety by the slightest hint of a single noise. If this sounds worryingly familiar, rehabilitation is ready and your pet insurance course may cover the cost.
Dogs are especially sensitive to sound, so it is unsurprising that some canines may suffer from sound-phobias. Dogs are commonly able to detect sounds far lower and higher than the human range; humans can hear sounds up to about 20,000 Hz, whilst dogs have a range of 70,000 to 100,000 Hz. Dogs not only hear a wider range of sounds, they can also tell where it's coming from; using eighteen or more muscles, dogs can move, tilt and rotate their ears, which enables them to pinpoint the exact location of a sound.
Barking Dogs Audio
Common canine sound phobias include a fear of fireworks, thunder, trains and even rain. Pet owners are ordinarily aware that on bonfire night you need to take extra care of your pet; keep them close by, or best yet, safe indoors in a quiet room. Whilst adults and children alike huddle under smoke-filled skies trying to write their names in the trail of a sparkler, pet dogs are probably huddled under tables with their tails between their legs.

A fear of fireworks is easy to understand and predict, but what if your dog has a phobia towards a simply occurring sound? If your dog fears an unpredictable and uncontrollable sound, such as thunder, your day-to-day living may be severely affected. As phobias escalate, your dog may start to fear things he company with thunder. In time, even light rain could cause excessive levels of anxiety. Dogs that suffer acutely may also sass badly to increased wind, air pressure or humidity.
Symptoms of a phobia range in severity from panting and trembling, to hiding, whining, digging and home soiling. In exceptional cases, dogs have been known to jump through glass windows due to the intensity of their fear.
If the question is especially severe, and nothing seems to enhance it, you should speak to your vet, as there are treatments available. Most treatments for sound phobia involve a range of techniques along with desensitisation and counter conditioning techniques. This is where your dog is played very low levels of the fear-inducing sound; moderately the level of sound is increased, and the dog is rewarded for not responding to the noise.
Your dog insurance could pay up to 250 pounds per period of insurance towards your dog's rehabilitation for sound phobia, if it is recommended by your vet. Before you know it, your dog should be back to exploring - rather than fearing - the world at large. However, it's worth noting that the symptoms and phobia will only be covered if they began after the insurance was taken out and any preexisting phobias will not be covered.
This is my shih tzu / springer spaniel mix, Bijou. I was trying to get her to do something else while I recorded her with photobooth, but when she saw herself on the computer she started growling at herself instead. Really crappy sound quality.

- Story Telling - draw pictures or find some pictures in a coloring book and have your child tell you about what is going on in the picture. Ask a lot of questions to encourage your child to build a story nearby the photograph and use his or her imagination. This is also a great way to reiterate practical and public skills.
- I Spy - This classic game is one that you no doubt played as a child. either using something in a photograph or an item literally within the room, say "I spy with my exiguous eye, something that is..." and name the color of the object. The game works well both ways, allowing the child to both be the guesser and the someone who spies the object. For every incorrect reply give a clue about the object. The game helps to teach children colors and how to put words together in the right order.
- Touch and Guess - Place an object in a cloth bag or in a box with a hole big enough that your child can reach inside and feel the object, but not see it. Let your child feel the item with his or her hand and guess what it is. Once he or she guesses switch the item. With every incorrect guess, give a clue. Use items with many dissimilar textures such as a tennis ball, a marble, a golf ball, sandpaper, a tissue, and other rough, smooth, fuzzy (etc) objects. Encourage your child to narrate what he or she is feeling. What does it feel like? What could you do with this kind of an item? What could it be?
- If It Were Me - this game can be effective for construction conversational skills. In it, you begin the game "if it were me who found a puppy, I would..." or "if it were me who got lost in the mall, I would..." and let your child terminate the sentence. It also provides you with a very good chance to understand what your child is thinking, and suggest safe responses for serious events like getting lost, crossing the street, and other protection issues.
When it comes to autistic learning activities, there are lots of dissimilar ways for you and your preschooler to have fun and be educational at the same time. Plus these suggestions are pretty adaptable and can be altered to make them convenient for children at differing developmental levels.
Five Fun Autistic learning Activities for Your PreschoolerHarmony Festival 2011 - Emancipator Tube. Duration : 5.07 Mins.
This is just a bunch of clips I recorded when Emancipator came on. The audio is pretty messed up, but it was such a sick show! Ridiculous!
Recently, I moved into a new apartment. While it is much bigger and is very beautiful, there is also a lot of noise once you exit onto the main roadways. As it turns out, all of the road noise is advent from the fact that there are construction crews rebuilding and expanding the main road just covering of the apartment complex. But this isn't the only area that is receiving attention.
Over the past any years, North Carolina has come to be the center of attentiveness because more and more citizen are animated here than ever before. Because of this sudden influx of people, the old roads that once served their purpose are being broken down and re-built to accommodate the large swell of citizen who are now living in varied pockets of space. While construction crews are noisy, this is a more standard form of noise because it is tangible. You can go out at any point during a quarterly business day and find construction crews hard at work.
Barking Dogs Audio
When things start to get a little hairy is when you have road noise that you can't indubitably place. This kind of noise includes things such as large trucks or Suvs driving by at a high rate of speed, citizen whose engines or mufflers are in desperate need of repair, bicycle engines, garbage trucks and citizen honking their horns. For most people, these noises seem very unnecessary, and in most cases rude. Road noise, especially the kind that was listed above, can cause stress in citizen who are plainly seeing for a little peace and quiet. After all, how would you feel if you just came home from a long day at work only to have to listen to the sounds of citizen speeding by your front door, tires screeching, citizen yelling and dogsbarking, etc.
Road Noise
In places like New York, there are areas in which you are indubitably prohibited from using your car horn because doing so would ruin the aesthetic feeling in the area. Horns in vehicles are indubitably meant to function more as a warning to other drivers- as a sort of means for preventing accidents from happening. However, there are some citizen who abuse the use of their horns to plainly scare other citizen or because the driver is suffering from a bout of road rage blues.
Think about how much noise citizen make on a daily basis when it comes to their vehicles. Often, citizen will look at their cars and not think twice about the kind of noise it makes once they start it up. There are some vehicles that have built in sensors in the back bumper, and the car will indubitably emit a sound when you are backing your car up to supposedly alert anyone who is standing within range of your car to back away. But is this indubitably necessary?
From ambulances to firetrucks to police sirens to tornado sirens, marching bands, large tractor trailers and road crews, we live in a noisy society. Possibly this is the surmise then that so many of us look to go away on vacation in places where we are guaranteed some peace and quiet away from the noise.

The spleen is an organ located below the stomach. It contains lots of blood vessels with circulating red blood cells, manufacture it a storehouse for blood. It also supplies blood, and cleans up old red blood cells.
Dogs may manufacture masses in the spleen. These can be benign or malignant. Hemangiosarcoma is the most tasteless type of malignant spleen tumor in dogs. This is an aggressive cancer that tends to spread to other internal organs. Once metastasis has occurred, the diagnosis is poor.
Barking Dogs Audio
Although this type of cancer can occur in any dog, it is tasteless in middle aged to elderly dogs, especially large breeds like German Shepherd and Golden Retriever.
Spleen Cancer in Dogs - What You Should Know
Canine spleen cancer symptoms
When the tumor ruptures, the spleen bleeds and internal hemorrhage occurs. Immoderate blood loss may ensue in death. Symptoms of spleen cancer in dogs are:
shock
pale gums
cold body
weakness
abdominal distention
anemia
By the time the tumor is detected, it ordinarily has come to be large and has metastasised to liver, lungs, brain and other organs.
Diagnosis of spleen tumor
Several tests can determine the existence of masses. The introductory step involves a corporal examination. A firm mass can be felt in the spleen area on palpation. Thereafter, radiographs of the abdomen are performed to determine if the mass is on the spleen and radiographs of the chest is for checking the spread of cancer. Abdominal ultrasound may detect cancer spread to liver and other organs. Blood tests are also carried out.
It may not be inescapable before surgical operation either the tumor is benign or malignant. If radiographs and ultrasound show spread of tumor to other organs, the tumor is malignant.
If no tumor spread is visible, the mass may or may not be benign. Where the tumor spread is too small to be seen, it may not be inescapable if it is benign or malignant until the abdomen is opened.
Treatment for dog spleen tumor
For both benign and malignant tumors, the recommended rehabilitation is splenectomy. If the cancer spread is minimal, chemotherapy following surgical operation may prolong the dog's life span.
If the tumor is benign and the splenectomy is not carried out, there will be repeated hemorrhages that is potentially life threatening to the dog. Splenectomy gets rid of the associated problems and symptoms caused by benign tumor.

Is your Yorkshire Terrier coughing? Dogs don't cough the way habitancy do, so when you hear your dog manufacture a coughing sound, that needs to alert you that there might be a question on the horizon. If it's a hacking sound, maybe there's something stuck in your dog's throat. If it's a non-productive, honking type of cough and your dog is a Yorkshire Terrier, then it could be the early beginnings of collapsing trachea. Collapsing trachea can result other breeds also, but it seems to be a health issue for Yorkies. Sometimes it is genetic and breeders should try very hard to breed this out of Yorkies. It can be caused by wearing collars or leads that are tight and then when the dog pulls on his leash, he chokes. The constant pulling and choking will eventually damage the windpipe. This applies to all breeds, also.
My Yorkie began a microscopic cough during the summer of 2007. At the time, we were having renovations done on our home and I belief his throat was dry from the plaster dust and sawdust in the air. The coughing didn't occur daily so I didn't worry about progression. I made every exertion to keep the dust down by vacuuming and dusting daily.
Barking Dogs Audio
In the Fall, he had a vet check and I mentioned the cough. Our vet said it was probably collapsing trachea. She prescribed Torbutrol as a cough suppressant and after his first dose he was so drugged that he couldn't stand, eat or get to his water bowl. She had said that he'd probably have to be on this the rest of his life, taking 2 pills a day. After this reaction, I called the vet and it was decided that he couldn't tolerate this drug. He only weighed 4 pounds 6 ounces. After that I tried herbal cough medicines. I also gave him vitamin E and vitamin C.
Yorkie Terrier Dog Coughing - A Battle of Collapsing Trachea
During the Winter of 2008, he had any vet visits and it was always the same--his heart checked out good and his lungs were good. His appetite was good, there didn't seem to be anything to be involved over. At no time was I ever told of warning signs of collapsing trachea that might take his life. His coughing went from that dry, hacking sound to a sound much like a person makes when trying to clear one's throat. Many days he wouldn't cough at all, but many nights he would start to cough and couldn't seem to stop. I tried giving him honey to coat his throat, because I'm sure his throat must have been very raw from all that coughing. There are herbal cough medicines on the store that include honey. Sometimes they helped, but not always. Some days he would pace around all over the house, coughing--trying to breathe. As the trachea narrows it becomes like trying to breathe straight through a straw.
I searched the Internet for answers, finding for natural cures for him, but of course there is not much that can be done. Sometimes surgical operation is suggested, but it is not always thriving and can be very expensive. Not to mention the pain that your dog will go through.
Collapsing trachea claimed someone else victim, as my Yorkie passed away from suffocation, in his sleep on October 1, 2008. So, if your dog is manufacture sounds like coughing, please discuss this with your vet so you will know what to expect. Derive as much data as you can and do all things inherent to make your dog as comfortable as you can. You might try using a cool mist humidifier at night in the area where your dog sleeps. Keep his weight down, also. But, most of all, love him and pay as much attention to him as you can. I was very fortunate to have had my Yorkie for 14 years. We were together enduringly and he is terribly missed. I sincerely hope that if you are dealing with this health question with your Yorkie, that you will find something that will help him. Now, please, go hug your dog!

Several times a day the trains of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad pass through Norman, Oklahoma. Observe that the horn is blasting even as the locomotive is crossing the gated intersection. This is very common. Over the years their horns have become louder. Sometimes they sound like a howling herd of stampeding elephants. This is probably because car stereos and radios, which are another noise nuisance in the community, have become louder and the railroad operators want their horns to be heard by these drivers. DEATH OF A STUDENT IN COLLISION WITH A TRAIN In 2004, a University of Oklahoma student named Mark Goodnight died after his automobile collided with a train in Norman. In a letter to the editor of the campus newspaper, his sister Kari Goodnight commented on the death of her brother. Go here for the letter and see the last two scans on page 2: www.facebook.com She said that, according to the investigating officer, Mark was driving between 25 and 28 miles per hour when he slammed on his brakes and skidded into the path of the train. Why didn't Mark see the train and the flashing red lights and hear the loud bells before it was too late? His sister Kari provides a big clue when she writes: "I have driven over those tracks myself, and I never hear the bells if I am listening to my radio. The train whistle seems to blend in with the music and the flashing lights rarely catch my attention because they are so far off to the side of the road." Kari appears to be ...
Almost all hunters have the fear that they will purchase or raise a pure bred gundog and in the end it will be a perfect waste because the dog turns into a quivering mass of jelly at the sound of a gun. There are many who have the mistaken confidence that the gun shy dog has inherited this disposition. While it may be true that a dog may inherit a timid nature, this does not necessarily mean that the dog will turn out to be gun shy.
Many hunters also will assume that all dogs from the starting will be shy at the sound of a gun. any way when you no ifs ands or buts study this proposition, this might be a mistaken assumption. There is no ifs ands or buts nothing that should induce a normally socialized dog to quake in fear at the sound of a gun. A normally socialized dog should be exposed from the beginning, in the normal course of events, to rides in the car, walking in neighborhoods where construction is going on, crowds of people, playgrounds, children....numerous noisy events. From the starting it is leading that the gun dog, like any dog, should first of all be well socialized.
Barking Dogs Audio
From that starting point, there are some tried and true methods that do help to insure that the dog will not turn out to be gun shy. One of them is the firing of a cap pistol at the feeding time of the dog. This any way will only be sufficient if it is started in develop of setting down the food bowl and furthermore should always be done when you are sure that the puppy is not sleeping at the time. Waking the puppy out of a sound sleep by the firing of the pistol is much more likely to induce shyness than to prevent it. The firing of the pistol should be done first at a distance as you are approaching the puppy with the food bowl and slowly lessening the distance. Furthermore encouraging words and petting of the dog should not be given if the dog does show any shyness, since this will only reinforce his shyness. If he shows timidity at the sound of the pistol, naturally put the food down and leave him to eat. Repeat the firing of the pistol at the next feeding before manufacture any decisions to continue this. If the dog shows shyness, continue by firing the cap pistol at a farther distance from the dog. If it appears that this is not going well, stop the practice completely.
Gun Shy Dogs: How To forestall Gun Shyness
By far the best and most sufficient way to introduce the sound of the gun to the puppy is to have him already keyed up and excited about the hunt, which in the end is accompanied always with the sound of the gun anyhow. If a puppy is no ifs ands or buts engaged in the hunt and the gun goes off, it is likely that he will not even notice the firing of the gun. The hunter should plan on taking the dog out to hunt and firing the gun off when the dog is no ifs ands or buts giving chase to game. If it is not hunting season naturally fire the gun into the air. Allow the dog to continue giving chase. If the puppy does notice the sound of the gun then try again the next time and fire the gun at a farther distance from the dog. Any hunting dog that is truly focused in on the excitement of the chase and is a normally well socialized dog will naturally accept the sound of the gun as the background noise connected with the hunt. Furthermore, if the hunter is any kind of a shot and it is during hunting season, the dog will get the best bonus of all...the opening to no ifs ands or buts see and smell the result of his hunting!

With its finely tuned adaptive 20-band equalizer, AudioIQ2 makes you sound like you're in the same room as your caller, not miles apart. To achieve this, AudioIQ2 makes use of two microphones--one that's focused on your speech and the other that picks out distracting background sounds, such as road hum and construction noise. It then compares the data from the two mics and eliminates the unwanted sounds, leaving your unique voice free to be heard clearly and naturally, as it was meant to be.
The dual microphones are also stacked with three layers of WindSmart technology. Stainless steel mic screens, acoustic fabrics, and an electronic filter in the mic circuitry--all aggressively block intrusive wind noise. The adjustable boom, which allows you to wear the headset on either ear, positions the mics where they can best capture your voice, further enhancing the sound quality.

The Voyager PRO features a soft silicone ear tip that's ideal for acoustics and an ergonomic fit; a durable, flexible rubber that's suitable for continuous skin contact; and even weight distribution across multiple touch points to help avoid fatigue.
Engineered for Comfort and Your Mobile Lifestyle The Plantronics Voyager PRO endured 24 rounds of human factors testing to perfect the design for all-day wearing, comfort, and stability. The behind-the-ear wearing style is perfectly counterbalanced so weight is distributed evenly, rendering it virtually weightless when worn. The Voyager PRO ear tip is made of soft silicone for an optimal fit and features a "sound channel" that helps distribute audio evenly to the ear.
Designed with the mobile professional-user in mind, it includes easily accessible power, volume and mute buttons and features voice prompts for low battery warnings and mute status. Finally, the lithium polymer battery provides up to six hours of continuous talk time and five days of stand-by time, exceeding the talk and standby times of most mobile phones.

Devaint: safriatiger.deviantart.com My friends awesome remake:nicky-wolf.deviantart.com Stop Animal Abuse. It has gone too far. You are only aloud to use this drawing if you are trying to raise awareness of Animal Abuse I waited in the cold and dark cell, sitting in a putrid mixture of my own blood and fear. I had lost count of how many years I had been here. I once had a family, who had seemed to love me. But then I was stolen in the night, and sentenced to years of solitude and torture. My cracked ribs screamed in protest as I struggled to breathe, and my head spun with lack of oxygen. The abuse was finally catching up with me. My back was broken in three places, the paws of my pads were mutilated and unusable, my eyes refused to see light, and my ears refused to hear. Moving was no longer an option for me, and starvation and thirst were taking their toll. I was waiting. I was waiting for death. Suddenly, I heard a very dull sound. I knew it was the gate of my prison opening. I expected to be hurt, to be strangled, to be beaten to death. But instead I felt a gentle hand on my back. I was slowly, painfully lifted and carried outside the cell. I felt the heat of the sun, I smelled the rough scent of earth and water, and barely heard the birds slight chirping. In my head, my blind eyes constructed a world of wonders, beauty, and light. As I was gently laid in a patch of thick grass, my ribs stopped aching, and my back seemed to mend. Breathing became easier, and my hearing ...
When your dog softly whimpers that means: "I'm hurt!" "I'm frightened." The average human is most likely to hear this at the vet, when a dog is suffering, or when an obedient dog is in a strange location that appears intimidating. This is honestly a mewing sound that young dogs make when they feel cold, hungry, or troubled.
Loud, long-drawn-out whining sounds mean: "Please give me something . . ." or "I want something ..." A puppy ordinarily uses this sound when he's waiting for his meal, or for the leash to be put on, or when they are trying to get his master's attention, etc.

When a dog sighs accompanied by a dog's lying down with his head on his forepaws, can have two meanings, depending on the context and his facial expressions. With his eyelids half-open, this is a sign of enjoyment, which means "I am happy and am going to relax." With eyes wide open, this is a sign of disappointment when something startling has not transpired, this means: "I quit!"

When a dog is baying: This is the sound of hounds while a hunt. It is translated as "Follow me this way!" "Let us assault him!" or "All together now!"
When a dog yip-howls this is honestly more of a yip-yip-yip-howl, with the final howl quite drawn out. It basically means "I am very lonely" "I feel deserted!" or "Where is everybody?"
When a dog howls: "I'm over here!" "This is my space!" or "I hear you out there!" A clear dog will howl just to announce where he is. Howling also often happens in response to a yip-howl from another canine. It has a more echoing sound to the human ear than does the yip-howl, which is often called mournful.
When a dog moans: "ar-owl-wowl-wowl . . ." over a short duration of time. It is a sound of impulsive satisfaction and excitement that means "I am flabbergasted!" or "Let's play!" A dog ordinarily moans when something he anticipates something animated to happen.
When a dog is panting: "Let us go now!" This means he is very excited.
Pets can also learn vocalizations. For example, the bark that dogs often give to the command speak sounds are very distinct from an impulsive bark. The same can be said for the bark that police dogs are taught. Many dogs can be taught clear sounds for clear settings, from straightforward barks, moans, or play-growls to more complicated sounds that may sound like yodels.

Another tool for keep birds away from your patio is a bird repellant. There are simple non-toxic bird repellants out there that you can apply to surfaces that you do not want birds to land on. Such a bird repellant is stick and birds do not like the "feel" of it. Of course, seeing as how it is sticky, you will not want to apply it to your patio furniture, but you may want to reconsider applying to branches that hang over your patio or a gutter that surrounds your patio. If a bird cannot land colse to your patio, it is much less likely to poop on your patio!
There are also more modern takes on the scare crow to keep birds off of your patio furniture. Birds verily are afraid and nervous colse to things that remind them of a predator bird, and also sometimes spellbinding colors and bold designs. Pick up some of these items at your local gardening store.

What in the world would you and I do if there was no such thing as music?
Can you imagine a world without music? No songs, no tunes, no rock, no roll, no jazz, no hymns, no boogie-woogie, no country-western, no symphonies. No singing in the shower. No whistling Dixie.
Barking Dogs Audio
Lovers wouldn't have songs to romance to. There would be no such thing as "our song." Sinatra couldn't fly to the moon. Elvis couldn't complain about population stepping on his blue suede shoes. Tony Bennett would have to write a letter about how he left his heart in San Francisco. Willie might go on the road again, but without a guitar. And Ray Charles would look pretty strange up on stage without a piano telling us that Georgia is on his mind.
What In The World Would We Do Without Music?
Then when the wedding day arrived, what would the bride march down the isle to? A poem? Silence? Applause? And when the happy incorporate marched out of the church together, would they do it to the bark of neighborhood dogs, or maybe all the wedding guests talking at once?
And at the reception, what would they dance to? The Funky Chicken just isn't the same without music. Since rhythm is part of music, no drums would even be allowed.
And the honeymoon I suppose would take place with radio news on, or maybe the educational channel accompanied by the drone of an air-conditioner.
When baby arrives, do we lull her to sleep with a reading from Shakespeare? Or maybe random readings from the dictionary or encyclopedia? Could we bore her to sleep with words?
Nursery rhymes would have to be chanted or recited instead of sung. School music programs would of policy be non-existent, as would school choirs and orchestras and bands. When the school football team plays, there would be no school fight song. Cheerleaders would have to cheer and dance minus any music.
And when those birthdays roll around, we would have to all delineate together in a monotone "happy birthday to you."
And when duty calls, what would soldiers march to? What would take the place of music in parades, since there would be no marching bands? John Philip Sousa would have had to get a day job.
And on the 4th of July there would be no patriotic songs - just speeches. At Christmas time there would be no Christmas carols. No rousing gospel music at Easter, no hymns in church.
And can you imagine radio without music? Nothing but news and talk shows and bla bla bla bla....
I don't know about you, but I've had it up to here just mental about it. I'm heading for the piano now to celebrate the fact that our creator gave us the amazing and moving and uplifting gift of music that we all take for granted.
I think I'll play a nursery rhyme or two, then the wedding march, then Silent Night, then Auld Lang Syne, then Fur Elise, then the blues, then a exiguous jazz, then... And then...
