You are only aloud to use this drawing if you are trying to raise awareness of Animal Abuse I waited in the cold and dark cell, sitting in a putrid mixture of my own blood and fear. I had lost count of how many years I had been here. I once had a family, who had seemed to love me. But then I was stolen in the night, and sentenced to years of solitude and torture. My cracked ribs screamed in protest as I struggled to breathe, and my head spun with lack of oxygen. The abuse was finally catching up with me. My back was broken in three places, the paws of my pads were mutilated and unusable, my eyes refused to see light, and my ears refused to hear. Moving was no longer an option for me, and starvation and thirst were taking their toll. I was waiting. I was waiting for death. Suddenly, I heard a very dull sound. I knew it was the gate of my prison opening. I expected to be hurt, to be strangled, to be beaten to death. But instead I felt a gentle hand on my back. I was slowly, painfully lifted and carried outside the cell. I felt the heat of the sun, I smelled the rough scent of earth and water, and barely heard the birds slight chirping. In my head, my blind eyes constructed a world of wonders, beauty, and light. As I was gently laid in a patch of thick grass, my ribs stopped aching, and my back seemed to mend.
